We’re passionate about supporting churches as they foster healthy families: Body, Mind and Soul.
Dwell.
We dwell at home. We dwell in families. We dwell in Scripture. We dwell in our church bodies and in our communities. When our dwelling places are filled with gospel-focused, healthy relationships, we can more effectively reach our communities with the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
By bridging the gap between mental health and spiritual discipleship, Dwell Ministry equips church members and leaders through psychologically informed, biblically grounded resources and evidence-based strategies to create dwelling places filled with Gospel-focused, healthy relationships.
Who Are We?
After years of professional experience in the counseling field and years of brainstorming better ways to address mental health from a Biblical perspective, we founded Dwell Ministry to bridge the gap between the church and the mental health community. We truly believe that a strong marriage produces a healthy family, and a healthy family contributes invaluable resources to further God’s commission (Matthew 28:16-20).
We live in humble deference to the Word of God, and we are knowledgeable in our expertise.
Our Founders: Kalie Moore and Lauren Bowman
Kalie is a wife, mother, Jesus follower, and clinical therapist. Her passion lies in helping others find healing and hope this side of eternity. She believes motherhood is sacred, our dwelling places matter, and marriage is worth fighting for.
Kalie holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and spent several years in private practice before co-founding her next big venture - Dwell! Her interests and expertise are focused on maternal mental health and relationship dynamics. She specializes in providing individual and marriage therapy, but always keeps in mind that Jesus is the true and ultimate healer. She has formal training in perinatal mood disorders, perinatal grief and loss, and is Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS certified.
Kalie believes therapy is a gift from God and that it is imperative we view people as they were designed - mind, body, and soul. She is passionate about mental health education and advocacy because she believes that healing is possible even in this broken world. Her hope is that as families and churches and communities are restored, each person would experience the purposeful pursuit and extravagant love of God the Father. And what a joy it is to be a part of that process!
In her free time, you would most likely find her gardening, baking, or adventuring with her 4 energetic and precocious kiddos. She and her husband are dedicated world travelers whenever they can spare the time, and she is a lover of good coffee, fine wine, and fresh baked goods.

Lauren is a Jesus-follower, wine lover, and travel enthusiast. She has two redheaded kiddos that teach her {a lot of} patience and fill her life with laughter. Lauren and her husband love to support local restaurants and find any place with halfway decent live music.
Lauren holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Liberty University. She spent a number of years in private practice before taking a step back to explore ministry opportunities to blend her two passions—Jesus and healthy relationships. This led to some dreaming with Kalie about what life would look like if the Church was better informed, better equipped to love on those that are hurting within the Church. What if the Church was known for being safe and compassionate rather than judgmental and cold? This kind of Church exemplifies that life that Jesus lived. Hence the creation of Dwell!
As a clinician, Lauren provides individual, couples, and family therapy with an emotion-focused lens. She works with clients to explore life patterns and choices to establish healthy connections. She believes that relationships are at the very core of everything we do, therefore their health or dysfunction have a special ability to impact our mental health. She is certified as a premarital counselor by Prepare Enrich and loves to assist couples build a solid foundation.
While therapy has been a crucial part of her career, Lauren loves the beauty of a person’s story. There is so much to be learned in every phase and so many opportunities to behold God at work in peoples’ lives. Working with people is more than giving tools or theories to better themselves—it is a window into the delicate, intentional masterpiece God is creating in each individual on this earth. This is her hope for everyone—to see God’s pursuit and considerate love in His shaping and refining of us.

Our Mission
When the early church is first described in Acts, the author describes a picture of fellowship. He writes: "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved," (Acts 2:46-47). The church began with intimate community--sharing meals in homes, praying together, and praising god corporately. God gave us the gift of community to live life together, faithfully.
In a broken world, community ushers into our lives both joy and suffering. God gave us the gift of relationships so that we do not have to traverse in isolation. As brothers and sisters, we have the opportunity to bear our burdens together through challenge, encouragement, prayer, and worship.
Dwell exists to create a movement within our churches to love more genuinely, serve more effectively, and provide care that heals our deepest wounds. We have to know better, to do better.
