-
CBT is an action-oriented style of therapy that focuses on the interactions between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It can help clients learn to identify, challenge, and replace maladaptive thought patterns and unhelpful response patterns with more adaptive and healthier ways of thinking, believing, and behaving.
-
EFT is an attachment based approach that conceptualizes the negative, rigid patterns of interaction within a relationship and fosters emotional awareness, secure attachment, and emotional attunment between partners. EFT can also be effective in individual therapy as it can promote effective decision making, create greater self-awareness, and strengthen self-identity.

While not a specific modality or intervention, trauma-informed therapy is a way of tailoring interventions to the individual while taking into account the individual’s unique history, triggers, and needs. It begins the process of building trust once again, and enables the therapist to act as a kind of transitional attachment figure throughout the therapeutic process. It incorporates psychoeducation on how trauma impacts the body, mind, and soul, and focuses on skills to process trauma and its impact on emotions, self-regulation, relationships, and behavior.

We believe that psychology and theology beautifully complement each other and incorporating both into therapy can be very beneficial to Christian clients. Through God-given psychological principles and evidence-based strategies, psychology can be a part of helping people become the healthiest version of who God created them to be. However this is always left up to the client regarding if (and how much) they want their faith to be incorporated into their sessions. While we are Christians here at Dwell, it is in no way a requirement that you be a Christian in order to access services here.
Everyone has a story. Our goal is to help others to sort through, challenge, and make sense of difficult feelings, thoughts, memories, and experiences so that they can feel less chaotic on the inside, allowing them to see God, and how He is working in their lives, more clearly. We believe there is so much joy and satisfaction to be experienced in healthy relationships. We were designed to deeply love and be loved, to intimately know and be known by others.
We would be honored to be a part of your story.
We offer Group Therapy!
When we experience growth within the context of community, we experience safety and support in a manner that cannot be replicated in individual settings. Group therapy is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and be vulnerable in a safe environment where you learn you are not alone.
Because you are not alone!
