Mollie Pinkham, LCSW
Clinical Therapist & Educator
Hi! My name is Mollie, and I’m really glad you’re here! Deciding to pursue therapy and finding the right therapist can be difficult. I would love to help as you take those next steps!
Watching your child struggle can feel overwhelming and heartbreaking. Whether it’s ADHD so intense it disrupts your home, anxiety so crippling it causes nausea, PTSD from an unimaginable circumstance, or another struggle in between, it can leave parents and loved ones feeling helpless and defeated. My goal is to offer support and encouragement in these seasons that can feel dark and hopeless.
For several years I have worked with children, teens, and families to help them navigate difficult and overwhelming seasons. From physical and emotional abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, traumatic grief, and substance use related issues, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside and supporting children, and their families, as they begin to experience hope and healing. Being a kid in today’s world is not easy, and making decisions as parents can be just as challenging. I believe every family has the ability to grow and overcome challenges together.
I believe God created each person in His image and, because of this, we are all worthy of dignity and respect. Whether you want faith to be a part of your therapeutic experience or not is completely up to you. My desire will always be to create a safe space for you, or your child, to process experiences and emotions, manage conflict and stressful circumstances, and not lose hope in the midst of difficulty.
For some more details on how I do what I do, here’s a bit about my background and approach. I work from a trauma-informed lens in all my work with clients. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, always tailoring these modalities to meet each individual’s unique needs. In addition to trauma work, I have experience working with children and teens struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and peer/family relationships. I also love working alongside parents and providing support in the midst of challenging situations, behaviors, and diagnoses.
Family therapy can be so helpful in seeing struggles and problems from a multisystemic perspective — I believe in stepping back to see the bigger picture and working toward stronger and healthier relationships. I have training in Family Systems therapy as well as Child-Centered Play Therapy and implement this when working with younger children. Before a child even knows how to communicate verbally, they begin to communicate through play. Whether it’s puppets, sand tray, arts and crafts, or imagination, I use many tools to help your little one feel comfortable and safe as they communicate and express themselves through play. Whether it’s you, your child, or your whole family, I would love to come alongside and help you navigate the issues you’re facing right now.
Therapy is hard work, and change can be uncomfortable. You can be confident that I will support your healing work and offer encouragement as I walk alongside you through this process. There’s no better time to take that next step than right now, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
